In the Hagi region of Yamaguchi Prefecture, there has long been a custom of finely chopping sun-dried wakame seaweed and sprinkling it on rice.
Inoue Shoten, a long-established store founded in 1871, has created a soft seaweed furikake that follows this food culture, using soft, chewy wakame seaweed as the ingredient, seasoned with shiso, sesame, and bonito stock. Since its release in 1975, it has been a beloved local flavor.
It can be used for a wide range of dishes, including hot rice, omelets, pasta, and as a topping for natto.
